College Bound Elite tutors primarily in one-on-one sessions, although evenly skill-matched students in small groups are also possible. Our philosophy is to understand how each student thinks, to get into their brain, so that we can then maximize each student’s scores. That is seldom possible in larger groups; so be wary of having your student join a class of three or more students for SAT or ACT prep – the payoff is usually minimal.

Why don’t others make PSAT & SAT concepts easy to learn? The answer: because they don’t know how students think, how students learn, and how to make it easier for students to learn. In contrast to that, Bill knows how students think, how they learn, and how to make it easier for students to learn. Bill’s thousands of hours of one-on-one tutoring of students at all levels has provided Bill invaluable insight into all of those questions, and are reflected in his approach to SAT prep, and in his publications.
Bill has a passion for PSAT, SAT & ACT prep. Bill has been called a genius, an awesome tutor, and a hero by his students and their parents (see College Bound Elite’s testimonials). Bill strives to change the world of every student that he tutors… including that insanely huge part of each student’s world that depends on his/her SAT & ACT scores. Importantly Bill tutors not only the academics of PSAT, SAT and ACT prep, but also the psychology of the PSAT, SAT and ACT. The psychology of how to take the test is just as important as the math, reading and writing itself; in strange way it is more important because the math, in particular, is quite easy once the psychology is mastered. The critical reading can be almost as easy as the math. Bill changes how students think, how they solve problems and how they read passages. The psychological aspects make a tremendous difference in scores – Bill shows students why, and how.
The content of each prep session is specifically formulated for the individual student and his/her skill level; this maximizes each student’s scores in the minimum possible time.

Steve Jobs was enormously creative and innovative; Apple products combine high quality, user friendliness, and intuitiveness. Bill does the same with PSAT, SAT and ACT prep. Many books are available that profess to help with PSAT, SAT & ACT prep, but few, if any, really do help. Parents buy them; students don’t use them. They are not geared to how students think. They are too massive, too much like classroom academics. The simplicity is not there. PSAT & SAT prep, although based on classroom academics, requires a learning technique that differs from the classroom to be effective. The College Board deliberately tries to confuse students when they tackle the PSAT & SAT. Bill breaks down the seemingly difficult concepts into understandable student friendly sound bites and depictions that help students learn and remember.
